The Early Bird Gets The Worm

Cinco de Mayo is around the corner and there will definitely be worms, that is in our mezcal worm tequila shots! Fact: The worm is actually the larval form of the moth Hypopta agavis, which lives on the agave plant, the plant from which tequila is produced. In true Miami fashion, the celebration of the Mexican Independence day is celebrated by honoring the country’s spirits contribution, Tequila. But we realize there’s so much more to this great day, like salsa, guacamole, and music! Which is why we decided to make a list of authentic-ish,unauthentic, and healthy options to celebrate. Arriba!

Rok: Brgr Cinco de Mayo Street Party

This Thursday is sure to be another rage of the ages, and JEY Hospitality Group in South Miami invites you to take part in its Cinco de Mayo Block Party. It’s hosted and supplied with bites by Rok:Bgr and TacoCraft. There will be conceptual burgers, hand-crafted tacos, tangy tequilas, chilled margaritas, ice-cold beers, a live DJ, and probably a sombrero or two. Participating area bars will provide the drink specials and the floor, and you’ll provide the tequila consuming device. The block party begins at 5 p.m. It’s free to attend.
Ok, so we realize that Cinco de Mayo isn’t everyone’s shot of tequila and that most of us use it as another excuse to celebrate the art of spirits, so here’s a not-so-traditional Cinco de Mayo event at the Electric Pickle. We can always count on them to follow through with some pretty awesome events, like Radio Slave at 10 pm. Check them out this Thursday, May 5th!

Olé!
