Occupying the entire oceanfront block of Collins Avenue, between 23rd and 24th Streets, 1 Hotel is at the nexus of two Miami beaches. Executed beautifully by design firm Meyer Davis, they immediately put you in Zen mode with rustic-edged wooden tables, gold coral sea fans printed on the walls, and reclaimed Colorado beetle kill pine wood, naturally dyed a cornflower blue due to the insidious bugs.

Beds are plush and pretty, on raised platforms begging to be used, while the bathrooms are equally inviting and oversized with Calacatta marble soaking tubs, rainfall showers with peek-a-boo windows, and trough sinks. While not every room has a balcony, many do, and an ocean-facing room is far superior to the city view.
